== Thunderbird (or Mozilla, or Netscape) ==

# click on the Address Book button
# go to the menu item ''File → New → LDAP directory''
# use ISR (or something else) for ''Name'', '''ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt''' for ''Hostname'', and '''ou=people,dc=isr,dc=ist,dc=utl,dc=pt''' for ''Base DN''

To test it, withing the Address Book dialog, select ISR (or whatever name you entered) in the left pane, and then search for some name.

To use it, from the Compose/Write/Reply dialog, click Contacts, choose ISR (or whatever you used) as Address Book, and then search for the name/email you need.

== Kontact ==

Open Kontact and select Contacts in the left bar.

# go to the menu item ''Settings → Configure KAddressBook'' menu.
# select LDAP Lookup and click '''Add Host'''
# use '''ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt''' for ''Hostname'' and click '''Query Server''' to get the DN configuration automatically
# select OK and then check the box on the left of ''ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt'' server name.
# select OK

To test, go to Tools/Search for Addresses in Directory and do your search.

== MS Outlook (Express) ==

# click on the Addresses button
# go to the menu item ''Tools → Accounts''
# click ''Add'', and then fill in '''ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt''' for the server name, go to the next wizard panel, answer as you wish, and then ''Finish''
# select ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt (that has just been created), click ''Properties'', then ''Advanced'' tab, and use '''ou=people,dc=isr,dc=ist,dc=utl,dc=pt''' for ''Search base''

(note that this server does NOT require, nor supports, secure connection (SSL))

To test it, use ''Find people'', select the ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt in the ''Look in'' selection box, write a name (or part of it), and hit ''Find Now''

When using this within ''Create mail'', do not forget to select the ldap.isr.ist.utl.pt option from the ''Look in'' selection list!!!
