Maintenance

In mid-2011 we noticed that the left machine of the chassis (icubbrain1) was not supporting new Linux distributions, whereas the right machine (icubbrain2) was running just fine. After several unsuccessful experiments, we sent the rack to Tetragon for maintenance; the technicians corrected the problem in August 2011 (it was a wrong stepping configuration).

Operating system installation

Partitions

We chose the 'Guided - use entire disk' option, which yielded the following:

Hard disk partitioning
size mountpoint filesystem
133GB / ext3
5GB swap

Additional software

ARTOOLKITPLUS

BOOST

System wide install using package libboost-dev (also installed libboost-doc)

MATLAB

MATLAB R2010a was installed on icubbrain1 (requires libxp6 package). Currently we are discussing if we want to leave the possibility to run MATLAB on the icubbrains (as well as on cortex), or to leave it only to cortex.
