In order to save paper, PLEASE print in both sides (if printer supports it). To set it as default, follow this recipe:

Windows

  • Go to Printers (& Faxes) Definitions
  • Select printer
  • Printer preferences (left tab or right mouse button menu)
  • Select Duplex printing

Mac OS X

  • Select Two-sided in the Layout options
  • "Save as" new preset in the Presets options (e.g., name it "Duplex")

The selected preset is persistent across applications and sessions :)

Linux

For Gnome desktop:

  • In Gnome go to System -> Administration -> Printing, select the printer,

click on the "Printer Options" tag and choose "Long Edge (Standard)" in the "Double-Sided Printing" row. (contributed by Giampero Salvi)

For KDE desktop:

  • Just run "printers", right-click "Configure" on the desired printer and, where

it says "Duplex", choose "Long Edge". (contributed by Hugo Costelha)
